Opportunity for partnership with Bike to Work Week and FREE publicity
Would you like to gain free exposure and support riders and going green in the upcoming Bike to Work Week?
We are encouraging local restaurants to get involved in promoting the events of Bike to Work Week, May 12-18.
Click here for a flyer to hang in your window as a participant. All participating businesses should offer an incentive for bikers to stop in at their location. One incentive example is Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails' "2 Wheel Discount" which allows bikers to buy draft PBRs for $1. Some restaurants are offering a "Helmet Discount" where bikers wear their helmets in and get 15% off a menu item. Even free water bottle fill ups are helpful!
All participating businesses will be listed on considerbiking.org's Bike to Work Week website.
and included in email blasts from the Columbus Chamber, the Mayor's Young Professional's Commission, and Columbusunderground.com
Bike to Work Week will be held city-wide in celebration of the soon to be released Columbus Bicenntennial Bikeways Plan. The Mayor's Office, MORPC, University Area Enrichment Association, Bike OSU, Consider Biking, Batelle, Capital Crossroads SID and many others are involved in the planning. A variety of events ranging from movies, speakers, a bike tour, Green Drinks, and the corporate Bike Commuter Challenge will provide something for everyone!
Concurrent with the Corporate Commuter Challenge sponsored by considerbiking.org, some CORA restaurants are competing in the CORA Challenge in an effort to raise awareness towards the health benefits of bicycle riding to work while being green and alleviating parking problems, traffic congestion, and saving money on gas. It's a win-win for our staff, restaurants, neighborhoods, community and customers.
Simply download the attached flyer and hang it in your window the week of May12-18 to let your customers know you are involved in the festivities.
If you would like your restaurant to participate and be included in upcoming email blasts, please contact Elizabeth Lessner at elizabeth@tiptopcolumbus.com as soon as possible, be sure to indicate what sort of discount you will be offering bicycle riders.
If you would like to donate prizes for our competition, contact Amy Brennick at amybrennick@gmail.com
